Men's tennis drops 5-2 decision to Assumption

MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College men's tennis team had a 5-2 setback against Assumption College on Saturday morning in a Northeast-10 Conference contest at the South Athletic Field Tennis Courts.

The Hawks fall to 0-15 overall and 0-7 in league play while the Greyhounds improve to 2-11 overall and 2-2 against NE10 opponents. The Hawks return to action on Sunday to host Adelphi at 2 p.m. on Senior Day.

Senior Daniel Kmetz (Amston, Conn.) earned a hard-fought victory at No. 4 singles in three sets. After dropping the first set, Kmetz battled to a 6-4 win over Jacob Lawrence in the second set while winning the third by a 10-8 margin. 

Freshman Michael Rosen (Andover, Mass.) picked up a two-set sweep at No. 2 singles. He battled to a 7-6 win in the first set, taking the tiebreaker by a score of 7-5, before winning the second set with a 6-3 score.

Sophomore Sam Kluger (Nashua, N.H.) had a tough three-set loss at No. 3 singles against Jameson Keppeler. Kluger won the first set with 6-3, before dropping the second set. He played a tough third set, ultimately falling 10-7.

Freshman Ethan Hall (Duxbury, Mass.) lost at No. 1 singles in straight sets to Max Francis. In doubles, the Greyhounds won both No. 1 and No. 2 doubles by a 6-1 margin.
