Men's tennis wraps up NE10 play at Stonehill

EASTON, Mass. – The Saint Anselm College men's tennis team lost a 7-0 contest against Stonehill College on Thursday afternoon in a Northeast-10 Conference tilt at the Charles Watt Tennis Courts.

The Hawks fall to 0-17 overall and 0-9 against NE10 opponents while the Skyhawks improve to 11-6 overall and 3-3 in league play. 

The duo of sophomore Sam Kluger (Nashua, N.H.) and senior Daniel Kmetz (Amston, Conn.) lost a close match at No. 2 doubles against Russell White and Aleksander Lazowski. The Skyhawk tandem went on to win the match by a 6-4 score. 

Freshmen Ethan Hall (Duxbury, Mass.) and Michael Rosen (Andover, Mass.) battled in a tough No. 1 doubles flight against Trent Newman and Samuel Miller, falling by a 6-2 score. 

Kluger lost a close match at No. 2 singles. The first set ended with a 6-3 final in favor of White while the two battled to a 6-1 score in the second set, which went to White. 

Hall dropped a close match at No. 1 singles against Miller while Rosen fell in a two-set match at No. 3 singles against Vincent Huynh 6-2, 6-0. Kmetz was swept in the first set at No. 4 singles against Juan Riano Rojas and battled in the second set, but eventually lost 6-1. 

Saint Anselm concludes the season on the road in a non-conference match against Colby-Sawyer College on Sunday, Apr. 14 at 2 p.m.
