Men’s Cross Country posts 12th place finish at NE10's

WESTFIELD, Mass. – Freshman Ryan Sullivan and sophomore Anthony Galasso of the Saint Anselm College men's cross country team led the Hawks to a 12th place finish at Sunday's Northeast-10 Conference Men's Cross Country Championship.


The Hawks recorded their best team finish at the league race since the 2010 season in which the squad placed ninth in the 14-team field.

Sullivan recorded an 8K time of 28:45.60 and crossed the line in 99th place, two spots ahead of Galasso and his time of 28:46.09. Freshman Jordan Cook was the third Saint Anselm finisher (28:59.22), followed by classmate Brodie Deshaies (29:16.31).

Junior Adam Pakalnis secured a 125th place finish with a time of 30:12.08. Freshmen Trent Briggs and Ben Sweesy turned in times of 30:38.95 and 31:01.59, respectively, and Tim Holmes navigated the course in 31:35.41.

Freshman Hugh Cameron registered a time of 31:44.63. Junior Timothy Stap (32:58.35) and freshman Adam Scott (34:24.31) rounded out the field of Hawks runners.

Leakey Kipkosgei of American International led the field of runners, crossing the line in 24:38.67. Stonehill collected the team championship, edging American International by only two points.

Saint Anselm will compete at the NCAA Division II Eastern Regionals on Saturday, Nov. 4 at the Audubon Golf Course in Amherst, N.Y. The race will begin at 12:15 p.m.
