GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – Senior Monique Gauthier (Canton, Conn.) hit a solo homerun in the seventh inning, leading the Saint Anselm College softball team to a 1-0 win over Adelphi University on Sunday afternoon in game one of a Northeast-10 Conference doubleheader. The Hawks fell, 6-1, in the second game of the day.
Saint Anselm now stands at 8-6 overall and 2-2 in the NE-10, while the Panthers move to 9-8, 3-1 NE-10.
The first game of the day remained scoreless until the top of the seventh inning when Gauthier led off the inning with a homerun over the left-field fence.
