MANCHESTER, N.H. – Saint Anselm College softball junior Morgan Perry (Bethany, Conn.) was named to the Fastpitch News 2019 Preseason Division II All-American Honorable Mention team, announced on Friday, Jan. 25.

Perry had an incredible sophomore season that helped lead the Hawks to their first-ever Division II National Championship series appearance, a first for any program from the Hilltop. She logged 193 innings in the circle while making 32 starts. She posted a 26-5 record with a 1.67 earned-run average, striking out 184 batters while issuing just 39 walks and throwing 19 complete games. She led the Northeast-10 Conference in starts and wins, was second in the league in innings pitched and appearances, third in strikeouts and earned-run average and fifth in complete games and strikeouts per seven innings. Perrywas tied for seventh in Division II in wins, tied for 17th in shutouts, 20th in strikeouts-to-walk ration (4.72), tied for 30th in strikeouts and 34th in ERA.
Perry set single-season school records in wins, appearances, starts, innings pitched, and strikeouts, with her nine shutouts being tied for second most in a single-season on the Hilltop. She limited opposing hitters to a .215 batting average, which was fifth-lowest in program history for a single season. In 10 NCAA Tournament appearances, Perry was 7-1 with a 1.33 ERA over 63.1 innings of work.
She collected many accolades following her sophomore season, which included being named Fastpitch News Honorable Mention All-American, NCAA Championship All-Tournament Team selection, was named to the NFCA All-East Region First Team, A D2CCA Second Team All-East Region honoree, and All-NE10 Conference Second Team selection.
Perry and the Saint Anselm softball program open the 2019 season on February 15 against Kutztown University. That game will begin a six-game stretch for the Hawks in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
