MANSFIELD, Mass. – Sophomore pitcher Courtney Fisher (Taunton, Mass.) of the top-ranked Saint Anselm College softball team was named Northeast-10 Conference Pitcher of the Week on Monday.
Fisher, who went 2-0 in one start and four appearances in the circle, pitched 14 and two-thirds innings over the weekend, allowing zero earned runs on 11 hits while issuing one walk and striking out seven batters. During an 8-1 win over the University of Missouri-St. Louis on Friday, Fisher struck out three batters in a complete game effort, allowing one unearned run without issuing a walk. On Sunday, she pitched four and two-thirds innings in relief for her third win of the season against the Pioneers from LIU Post in a 1-0 contest, striking out two and allowing just one hit.
On the season, Fisher is 3-0 with two complete games and has 14 strikeouts in 27 innings of work. She has only given up two walks and has an earned run average of 1.30. in her career, she has an 18-7 record, along with four saves and 18 complete games in over 184 innings of work. She has 93 strikeouts and an earned run average of 2.24.
Fisher and the rest of the Hawks continue their spring break trip in Florida with two games on Tuesday, Mar. 5. The first game is against Georgian Court at 1:45 p.m. while the second contest is against No. 25 Gannon at 4 p.m.
