MANSFIELD, Mass. – Senior captain Jordan O'Connor (New Fairfield, Conn.) of the nationally-ranked Saint Anselm College softball team was named Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week, as announced Monday.
O'Connor batted .385 this week going 10-for-26 at the plate, including three doubles. She drove in 10 runs and scored three times, hitting safely in seven of the eight games during the week. During a 5-2 win over Cedarville on Wednesday, O'Connor had two hits, including a double, while driving in three runs. Against Mercy on Saturday in a 14-4 victory, she had two hits, scored twice and had three RBI in the game.
On the year, she is batting .346, slugging .538, and has an on-base percentage of .426 in 18 games. She leads the team with 16 RBI and the nine runs she scored is good for third on the team. She also has two home runs.
In 145 games during her four-year career, O'Connor has a batting average of .263, rapping 104 hits with 25 doubles, five home runs and 66 runs batted in.
O'Connor and the rest of the Hawks begin Northeast-10 Conference play with a weekend doubleheader at Le Moyne on Saturday, Mar. 23. First pitch of game one is scheduled for 11 a.m.
