  • Byrne, Tatu Named to the ECAC East All-Academic Team

    CENTERVILLE, MASS. -- Sophomore Sami Tatu and junior assistant captain Kristen Byrne were named to the ECAC East All-Academic Team this afternoon for excelling both on the ice and in the classroom. The pair of Hawks qualified for this award by having a cumulative grade point average above a 3.0.

    CENTERVILLE, MASS. -- Saint Anselm women's hockey freshman Rosemarie Giarrusso was named ECAC East Rookie of the Year. Molly Corl was selected to the Second Team, Giarrusso made the All-Rookie team, and she and Alexa Hingston both recieved Honorable Mentions.

    WORCESTER, MASS. - The Saint Anselm women's hockey team took on the Holy Cross Crusaders this evening in the ECAC Open Championship game. In a defensive duel, Holy Cross came out on top 3-1 to win their second consecutive ECAC Open Tournament.

    MANCHESTER, N.H. – The women’s hockey team hosted the No. 10 Manhattanville College Valiants this evening in ECAC East play. While Hawks had the largest lead of the game, a penalty-ridden third period gave the Valiants an advantage, as they pulled away with a 4-3 victory.

    RYE, N.Y. - The Saint Anselm women's ice hockey team traveled to Rye, N.Y., this afternoon to take on the Manhattanville College Valiants. The Hawks scored first, but the Valiants went on a three-goal run to defeat the Hawks 3-1.

    Manchester, N.H. (February 8) -- Over this past weekend, the Saint Anselm men's and women's ice hockey teams took part in the NCAA's "PinkZone" program, designed to increase breast cancer awareness. The Hawks raised $1,105 during four games over the weekend.

    MANCHESTER, N.H. – The women’s hockey team hosted the defending National Champion No. 2 Amherst College Lord Jeffs this evening. The first two periods were scoreless, but early in the third, the Lord Jeffs found a hole in the defense and claimed a 1-0 victory.
