MANCHESTER, N.H. - The Men's and women's hockey teams will be hosting their annual "Pink in the Rink" initiative this Friday and Saturday to raise support and awareness for breast cancer.
The men's hockey team will host Skidmore Friday night at 7 p.m., then host the second part of a double-header with the women's program Saturday. The Hawk women will battle Holy Cross at 1 p.m. Saturday, followed by the men's game against Castleton at 4 p.m. The teams will both don pink uniforms for the weekend's contests.
Throughout the week, both teams are selling t-shirts in Saint Anselm's Davison Hall over the lunch and dinner hours for $15. Paper breast cancer ribbons, which can be personalized and then hung in Sullivan Arena, are also for sale for $1 apiece.
At this weekend's games, various prizes including a cooler, skis and lift passes to Waterville Valley will also be available via Chuck-a-Puck and Shootout contests. In addition, the senior men's hockey jerseys will be available for bidding in a silent auction on Saturday.
All proceeds from the fundraising efforts and game programs will go to the Breast Cancer Research Wing at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, N.H.
