MANCHESTER, N.H. – Saint Anselm College women's ice hockey freshman forward Erin Meyers (Saint Paul, Minn.) was selected as the New England Women's Hockey Alliance (NEWHA) Rookie of the Week, as announced on Tuesday.
Meyers helped the Hawks go 1-1-0 over the weekend during their trip in Minnesota, scoring her first-career goal while adding an assist for two points (1-1=2).
During her team's 6-2 setback to No. 7/8 Hamline University on Thursday, she picked up the Hawks first goal of the game on the power play at the 16:54 mark of the second period, in her hometown. During Saint Anselm's 3-2 win against St. Scholastica on Friday, Meyers assisted on the Hawks' second goal of the game that came with 4:29 left in the opening period.
In her first year at the Hilltop, Meyers has 10 points (1-9=10) and her nine assists are tied for second on the team. She also has a plus-five rating on the year in 15 games.
Meyers and the rest of the women's ice hockey team return home on Friday, hosting UMass-Boston at 4 p.m. from Sullivan Arena.
