MANSFIELD, MASS. – For the second time this season, Saint Anselm College women's lacrosse freshman Taylor Cobain (Smithfield, R.I.) was named Northeast-10 Conference Rookie of the Week, as announced Tuesday.
Cobain started two games and posted seven points on six goals and an assist to help the Hawks pick up a pair of conference victories. She also won eight draws, collected five ground balls, and forced five turnovers. She netted two goals during a 12-7 win over Saint Michael's on Wednesday, Mar. 20. In an 18-6 win over American International on Saturday, Mar. 23, Cobain scored four times and also added an assist.
During her first season at the Hilltop, Cobain leads the team with 20 goals to go along with two assists. She ranks third on the team with 22 points. Her eight caused turnover is also best on the squad while her 18 draw control wins are second on the team.
Cobain and the Hawks return to action on Wednesday, Mar. 27 for a 7 p.m. home contest at Grappone Stadium against cross-town rival Southern New Hampshire.
