MANCHESTER, N.H. – Senior captain Corey Murray (Scituate, Mass.) of the Saint Anselm College women's soccer team was selected to play in the New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association (NEWISA) Senior Bowl. The game will be played on Saturday, Dec. 1 at 12 p.m. in North Andover, Mass. on the campus of Merrimack College.
The Senior Bowl will feature seniors from colleges and universities throughout New England representing all three NCAA Divisions. The Northeast-10 Conference has 22 seniors representing the league.
Murray appeared in 17 games during the 2018 season for the Hawks, making the starting lineup 12 times. She posted nine points with four goals and an assist, while firing 13 of her 25 total shots on net. She was second on the team with nine points and one of two players with four goals, which was also second-best for the Hawks. She also scored a pair of game-winning goals this year as her first came against Pace on Sept. 8 and her final winning tally came against Merrimack on Oct. 27.
Across a four-year career, Murray graduates with 44 career points, scoring 19 goals and six assists (19-6=44) and finishes seventh all-time with 19 career goals. Her 44 career points is tied for ninth all-time and she also concludes a storied career with three game-winning goals. Murray served as a captain during her junior and senior seasons and was a Third Team All-Northeast-10 Conference selection in 2017. She also had a career-high seven goals and 16 points of offense (7-2=16) during the 2017 campaign.
This season, Murray helped guide the Hawks to their first postseason appearance since 2013 and was a key part of one of the most successful teams in program history. Saint Anselm reached nine wins in conference play for the first time in program history.
