Perkins Continues to Roll, but Women’s Tennis Falls to Bentley, 7-2

WALTHAM, Mass. – Freshman Jess Perkins (Shrewsbury, Mass.) continued her torrid play as of late by winning both of her matches, but the Saint Anselm College women's tennis team was tripped up by Bentley University, 7-2, Friday afternoon at the Bentley Tennis Courts.

The Hawks drop their third straight to fall to 4-7 on the season and in Northeast-10 play, while the Falcons improve to 6-4, 6-4 NE-10.

Perkins was a 6-0, 6-2 winner against Ludmila Yamus at No. 1 singles. Perkins improves to 8-3 on the season in No. 1 singles play and has now won eight of her last nine, including four straight.

Perkins and classmate Ashley Sulkin (Ipswich, Mass.) pulled out a tight one at No. 1 doubles as they edged Yamus and Rachel Petrini, 9-7.

The Hawks return to action Saturday, Oct. 11 at 11 a.m. as they wrap up their regular season by playing host to Assumption College on Senior Day.
