Women’s Tennis Closes Out Season With 8-1 Loss to Assumption

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Freshman Jess Perkins (Shrewsbury, Mass.) won her singles match, but the Saint Anselm College women's tennis team wrapped up the season with an 8-1 defeat against Assumption College on Saturday afternoon at the Carr Center on Senior Day.

The Hawks finish 4-8 on the season and in Northeast-10 play, while the Greyhounds improve to 6-7, 6-5 NE-10.

Perkins beat Aida Vila, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 1 singles to finish her rookie season at 9-3 in No. 1 singles play. Perkins goes out on a high note, having won nine of her last 10.

Seniors Kate Martin (Hudson, N.H.) and April Regan (Berlin, Conn.) were honored in a ceremony prior to the match.
