MANSFIELD, Mass. – On the day that she recorded her 100th-career match win, senior Jess Perkins of the Saint Anselm College women's tennis team was tabbed the Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week on Tuesday.
In her team's lone match of the week, Perkins ran her record to 12-2 in 2017-18 with a 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 1 singles over Karla Miletic of USciences, the reigning two-time Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player of the Year. Perkins also teamed with Kaitlin Hughes for an 8-5 win at No. 1 doubles in the match.
Shortly before being named the NE10 Player of the Week for the first time this season and the sixth time in her career, Perkins was victorious in both singles and doubles against Ursinus College to hit the 100-win milestone. It took the senior just 130 matches to post the 100 victories, as Perkins is 58-10 in singles and 42-20 in doubles over her career.
Saint Anselm, which is in the midst of a five-match trip to Florida, faces Aquinas (8 a.m.) and Otterbein (7 p.m.) on Thursday, March 8.
