MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College women's tennis team was swept by Colby-Sawyer College on Wednesday at the Carr Activities Center.
Falling by a 9-0 score, the Hawks dip to 6-13 on the season. Colby-Sawyer improves to 15-5 overall on the season and will head to the NCAA Division III Tournament in early May.
The Chargers moved ahead by a 3-0 score after doubles play as the Hawks fell by 8-5, 8-4 and 8-2 margins in the top three flights, respectively. The tandem of Kaitlin Hughes and Meghan Golden had the closest bout, ultimately falling at No. 1 doubles, 8-5.
Colby-Sawyer cruised to victory by healthy margins in the top four singles matches but Dominique Bolduc dropped an 8-6 bout at No. 6 singles. Kayla Hodas dropped back-to-back 6-3 sets to Colby-Sawyer's Lauren Blanchard at No. 5 singles.
Saint Anselm hosts Concordia (N.Y.) at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Apr. 8.
