MANCHESTER, N.H.– The Saint Anselm College women's tennis team posted a 7-0 loss to the College of the Holy Cross on Wednesday at the South Athletic Fields.
The Hawks fall to 1-3 on the season with the result while Holy Cross, a member of NCAA Division I, picks up its first head-to-head victory of the year, improving to 1-1.
The Crusaders swept doubles play, limiting the Hawks to wins in only two games. Freshman Emily Jacy (Glastonbury, Conn.), competing at No. 4 singles, battled Morgan McGuire from Holy Cross to an 8-5 loss in what proved to be one of the tightest matches of the afternoon.
The Hawks will travel to the Green Mountain State for a 3:30 p.m. showdown with the Purple Knights from Saint Michael's College on Friday, Sept. 21.
