MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College women's tennis team was turned away by the Panthers from Adelphi University on Saturday by a 6-1 score on the Hilltop.
The Hawks drop to 2-4 overall on the season while Adelphi improves to 3-0 on the season. The Panthers remain undefeated in two Northeast-10 Conference fixtures while the Hawks drop to 1-2 on the young season.
Adelphi quickly picked up a 1-0 lead with back-to-back 6-0 shutouts of the Hawks No. 1 and No. 2 doubles teams. The Panthers, with only five student-athletes on the roster, cruised through singles play and yielded a default to the Hawks at No. 6 singles to account for the Hawks lone point in the match.
