MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College women's tennis team dropped a 4-0 Northeast-10 Conference matchup with Merrimack College on Wednesday afternoon from the South Athletic Field Courts. It was the final match of the fall season for Saint Anselm.
The Hawks, who celebrated the Senior Day of the four graduating student-athletes, fall to 5-10 overall and 4-7 in NE10 play. The Warriors improve to 10-5 overall and 9-2 in the conference.
Freshman Emily Jacy (Glastonbury, Conn.) was swept at the No. 4 singles flight, but battled in the second set to a 6-3 defeat against Merrimack's Hope Salts. Senior Kayla Hodas (Peabody, Mass.) lost her match at No. 5 singles, 6-0, 6-2. Junior Kaitlin Hughes (Rockland, Mass.) picked up a victory in the first set in the second singles flight. However, she lost, 6-1, 6-0.
The spring schedule for women's tennis will be announced in the coming weeks.
