MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College women's tennis team lost a 7-0 contest against the Redhawks from Roberts Wesleyan College on Sunday morning inside the Carr Center.
Sophomores Dominique Bolduc (Manchester, N.H.) and Maikah Bulpitt (Cumberland, R.I) led the way for the Hawks, defeating Leonie Spreng and Megan Burke in the second doubles flight. The match was tied at six, but Bolduc and Bulpitt won in a tie-breaker by a score of 7-2. However, the Redhawks secured the point in doubles action by winning the at No. 1 doubles and taking the third doubles flight by default.
Junior Kaitlin Hughes (Rockland, Mass.) lost a close match at No. 1 singles. The first set ended with a 6-4 final in favor of Hughes while the two battled to a 6-1 score in the second set, which went to Nthabi Mogopodi. Mogopodi eventually took the third set by a 10-7 margin.
The Hawks fall to 6-14 on the year, while the Redhawks improve to 11-8. Saint Anselm returns to action on Sunday, Apr. 14 at 2 p.m. when they travel to take on Colby-Sawyer College to conclude the 2018-19 season.
