INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Saint Anselm College volleyball team was ranked No. 6 in the East Region in the first set of regional rankings released by the NCAA on Wednesday.
Saint Anselm (14-10, 7-5 NE10) was one of six Northeast-10 Conference teams to be ranked in the regional poll, joined by New Haven (No. 2), American International (No. 5), Bentley (No. 7), Southern Connecticut State (No. 8) and Le Moyne (No. 9). The regional rankings are used by the NCAA to select teams for the NCAA Tournament.
The Hawks have played six matches this season against teams ranked in the regional poll, going 3-3 in those matches. Saint Anselm defeated Bentley twice and Southern Connecticut State once, while falling to LIU Post, American International and Le Moyne.
Saint Anselm has two matches remaining on its regular season schedule. Saint Anselm travels to Assumption for a 12 p.m. start on Saturday, Nov. 4 before hosting New Haven for Senior Day on Saturday, Nov. 11 at noon at Stoutenburgh Gymnasium in a key conference and regional match.
