McCarthy is the first student-athlete from Saint Anselm to earn overall Player of the Week honors since Marissa Caron '04 on Sept. 29, 2003.

The outside hitter led Saint Anselm with 28 kills across a 2-0 week, helping the Hawks to a four-set victory over Southern New Hampshire on Wednesday and a straight-set win over Merrimack on Thursday.

Against the Penmen on Wednesday, McCarthy posted 20 kills and 13 digs for her fifth double-double of the season. She later would add eight kills and five digs against Merrimack, playing in two sets before her removal for a substitute late in the convincing victory.

Across 69 career matches, McCarthy has averaged 2.38 kills per set while collecting 1.83 digs per set during that stretch. This season, she is posting single-season best totals in kills per set (3.26), attacking percentage (153-63-446, .202) and digs per set (2.81). She ranks third in the NE10 with 153 kills to date and her 3.26 kills per set is the league's fifth-best figure.
