MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College women's cross country team took home second place at the 35th annual Shacklette Invitational held on the campus of Saint Anselm College in Manchester, N.H.
Junior Shannon Conley (South Portland, Maine) posted a time of 19:30 to take home the top spot in the race. Junior Heather Evans (York, Maine) also had a top-10 finish, coming in sixth with a time of 21:10, while Allison Taylor (Chelmsford, Mass.) rounded out the top finishers with a time of 21:35 to finish 10th in her first collegiate race.
Sophomore Anna Barrell (Marblehead, Mass.) finished 12th with a time of 21:43, while Liberty Gendron (Manchester, N.H.) finished 18th at 21:58 and freshman Maquila Dimastrantonio (Shapleigh, Maine) posted a time of 22:09 to finish 19th in her first college meet. Emily Meinertz (Smithfield, R.I.) added a 21st place finish with a time of 22:27, and Colleen McLaughlin (Weymouth, Mass.) finished 23rd at 22:34.
Saint Michael's took first place in the women's race as they placed four runners inside the top-10, led by Abigail French, who finished second to Conley with a time of 19:33. Bentley placed third as the freshman duo of Abbie Newman (20:20) and Paige Fehskens (20:27) finished third and fourth, respectively. The New Hampshire Institute of Technology rounded out the teams in fourth place.
The Hawks return to action next Saturday when they travel to Smith College for their Invitational starting at 11 a.m.
