BOSTON – The Saint Anselm College women's cross country team was in action on Saturday at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Cross Country Championship at Franklin Park in Boston.
The Hawks finished 19th out of 22 teams across NCAA Divisions I, II and III.
Freshman Christine Toy (Standish, Maine) led all Saint Anselm entrants in the race, posting a 5K time of 19:08 to place 52nd out of 154 runners.
Freshman Delaney Flanagan (Bedford, N.H.) crossed the line in 19:42. Sophomore Dominique Engle (Rutland, Mass.) posted a time of 20:15 while junior Emily Ryan (Woburn, Mass.) registered a time of 20:40. Flanagan ended in 83rd while Engle had a 110th place finish.
Sophomore trio Samantha Matthews (Groveland, Mass.), Holly O'Leary (Tewksbury, Mass.) and Ellen Duane (Braintree, Mass.) rounded out the roster of Hawks competing in the varsity race with times at 20:56, 21:01 and 21:07, respectively.
The Hawks will compete at the Northeast-10 Conference Championship on Sunday, Oct. 27 at Lafayette, N.Y.
